Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, now known as the Keoladeo Ghana National Park is a famous avifauna sanctuary that sees thousands of rare and highly endangered birds during the winter season. Over 300 species of birds are known to have made the National Park their home. It is a World Heritage Site. The park is a freshwater swamp and is flooded during the monsoon. The park's location in the Gangetic Plain makes it an unrivalled breeding site for herons, storks and cormorants, and an important wintering ground for large numbers of migrant ducks. The most common waterfowl are Gadwall, Shoveler, Common Teal, Cotton Teal, Tufted Duck, Comb Duck, Little Cormorant, Great Cormorant, Indian shag, Ruff, Painted stork, White spoonbill, Asian open-billed stork, Oriental ibis, Darter, Common sandpiper, Wood sandpiper and Green sandpiper. And the majestic Sarus crane, with its spectacular courtship dance, is also seen here.

Itinerary
Day 1
Report at Delhi airport by 0930 hrs. Proceed to Bharatpur. Reach our resort at Bharatpur by 1400 hrs. Check in and freshen-up followed by lunch. Set out for first birding session by 1530 hrs. Return to the resort by evening. Get introduced to this unique ecosystem through an interactive session. Dinner and overnight stay at Bharatpur.

Day 2
Today we will have 2 birding sessions inside the Keoladeo Ghana National Park. We will be covering various areas inside the park on foot and will try our luck to see various avian beauties. We stand a chance to see different species of ducks, storks, eagles, flycatchers, cormorants etc. We may even stand a chance to see mammals like Spotted Deer and Jackal. We will return to our resort by 1200 hrs for lunch which will be followed by much needed rest.
We will set out for our next birding session by 1500 hrs and return to the resort after the sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at Bharatpur.

Day 3
We will spend a complete day inside Keoladeo Ghana National Park. This will allow us to reach the interiors of this birding paradise and we will try to search for some of the rare bird species like the Dusky Eagle Owl, Black-necked stork, Grey Nightjar, Mallard, Sarus Cranes etc. More enthusiastic souls have an option of hiring a bicycle to explore the interiors.
We will also try our luck in trying to spot the majestic hunter - the Indian Rock Python!! Lunch will be served inside the park. We will also visit the ancient Keoladeo Temple and return to our resort around sunset. Evening will be spent discussing facts about the winged wonders seen during these birding sessions. Dinner and overnight stay at Bharatpur.

Day 4
We will leave for a quick morning trail today, to get a last glimpse of the wonderful winged wonders in the unique habitat that Bharatpur has to offer. We will depart for Delhi by 1100 hrs. Reach Delhi by 1600 hrs with a lunch break enroute. Tour concludes with abundant memories of feathered friends and a ‘group selfie’!!!
