Khalil Gibran penned a beautiful poem titled FEAR.
It is said that before entering the sea
a river trembles with fear.She looks back at the path she has traveled,
from the peaks of the mountains,
the long winding road crossing forests and villages.And in front of her,
she sees an ocean so vast,
that to enter
there seems nothing more than to disappear forever.But there is no other way.
The river cannot go back.Nobody can go back.
To go back is impossible in existence.The river needs to take the risk
of entering the ocean
because only then will fear disappear,
because that’s where the river will know
it’s not about disappearing into the ocean,
but of becoming the ocean.
The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak has brought the world to a standstill. Every human on the face of the earth has been affected, without exception! And its impact on the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry is rather extortionate. The times are fraught with profound uncertainties.
When we read this poem, we could not help but wonder about its relevance to our lives right now.
Metaphorically speaking, Infinite Journeys is like a river from Gibran’s poem that has made its way through the mountains, braving the long, never-ending forests. Similarly, we at Infinite Journeys have had our share of difficulties and uncertainties along our journey that has spanned over the last 20 years. We pride ourselves on having ventured into the unknown time and again. And this has been an essential part of whatever successes we can claim of.
And this river is now about to enter the mighty mysterious ocean and seeks to unravel its hidden secrets. She doesn’t know what is in store for her, but enter she must! As we at Infinite Journeys wait to become one with the ocean, we are not afraid. We anchor ourselves with an abundance of knowledge and experience. And we progress, and only progress forward and are more than willing to take the risk by entering into the ocean with an overwhelming conviction.
We believe that the ocean of COVID world will help us learn, grow and evolve to become better and kinder versions of ourselves. This ocean, we are sure, will help us find the elusive pearls of life that we yearn for.
